Soccer
The Nebraska City Youth Soccer Club will play their first
games on March 31st 2007. Practices are underway. After signing up with the
league, your child will only need two additional items before the first game. A
pair of shin guards and the Nebraska City Youth Soccer Club reversible jersey
are required before the first game. Both of these items and all other soccer
accessories can be purchased at Thurman’s Bike and Sport.
Last year a new jersey and short were adopted into the league due to the
previous jersey being discontinued by the manufacturer. Last year players were
allowed to wear either the new jersey or the old jersey. For the start of the
2006 fall season, all players will be required to wear the new jersey. Traveling
team members will need to purchase the jersey, shorts and white soccer socks.
This will avoid any problems with uniform compliance when the teams play in
other cities or tournaments. For the younger teams that do not travel, black
shorts and white socks are recommended but not required.

your young player a quality shoe with excellent traction and durability to last
both the fall and spring seasons. Not all shin guards are made equal. Quality
shin guards will provide both ankle protection and a plastic sleeve should run
the length of the shin to distribute the blow across the entire length of the
pad. All the pads we carry provide the best protection for your young player.
Soccer balls come in 3 sizes to fit the size and experience level of your
player. Check with us and we’ll help you choose the right ball for you.
We also carry goalie jerseys and a full selection and sizes of goalie gloves. We
have training aids, inexpensive cones to mark out a practice field and many
other soccer accessories and equipment. Also,
print off the soccer coupon and
use it during the entire soccer season to receive an additional 10% off all
soccer uniforms, accessories and equipment.
